Goals
The Eden’s app is designed to bring the vibrant colors and fragrant aromas of the finest blooms right to your fingertips. From classic roses to exotic orchids, Eden’s Flowers and Gifts offers an extensive catalog of floral arrangements for every occasion.
After taking an in-depth course on Android App Design, I decided to craft one from scratch to showcase my app design skills.

Branding
The Eden’s app needed to have a distinctive brand identity that would evoke a sense of vibrance, freshness and delight. I wanted to create an engaging and intuitive shopping experience for the visitor. This is what I kept in mind as I selected the color palette, icons, fonts and typography styles.
Logo and Styleguide
Challenges & Solutions
Before planning the design, I researched several other flower store apps. The one thing I wouldn’t be able to find on stock photography sites was a large collection of flower bouquet images belonging to the same family, so for this project I borrowed the bouquet images from 1800FLOWERS.
Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I designed the logo and background images.
I worked on every part of the user experience from first visiting the app, to perusing gift options, making a selection, entering payment and delivery information, placing and confirming the order, and reviewing order details. I designed every element with consistency and pixel perfect detail.
I designed the app using Adobe CC, Material Design, and best practices for Android app design.
It took multiple attempts to create the movie using my phone, Adobe XD and Canva, as smooth as possible. It shows the user journey along with showcasing all elements, from the various menus to buttons to forms. I really enjoyed designing this app!
The final result
I’m very pleased with the end result, and achieved my goal of crafting a beautiful app for Android devices, with an intuitive, easy to navigate, seamless user experience.
Using the XD prototype and the style guide, the app is ready for implementation by the app developer.
